The first stage of the Bemerton Project began as a spatial experiment :
OBSERVATION
What happens if you set up a 3D spatial game in a housing estate?
Can you impose rules?
Will they be followed?
A suspended net was installed in the street, turning the space into a simple spatial game. Within minutes, neighbourhood kids took over — ignoring the rules and using it on their own terms.
CHALLENGE
The creativity was already there.
Parkour practice, street culture and a local hip-hop YouTube channel showed that the estate already had an active creative scene — but no place to develop it.
Resolution
Give it a space.
The proposal introduces a small recording booth — a compact studio where young people can produce and share their work.
